About the photographer

I was born, raised and educated in Sri Lanka and developed an enthusiasm for photography at the age of 12 when my father gave me a Kodak Brownie for my birthday. Educated at St Thomas College, Mount Lavinia, Sri Lanka, I went on to study medicine at the University of Ceylon, Peradeniya. After graduating from Peradeniya I went to the U.K. to do my Post Graduate training in  Anaesthesiology, which I have specialised in.

Living in Australia since 1985 and working in anaesthesiology in the Central Coast of NSW, I re-developed and renewed my intense passion for photography and I am now involved in it professionally; specialising in wildlife, landscape, people and underwater photography, which I have been able to indulge in due to my travels around the world.

Being a PADI Certified Advanced Diver, I have had the pleasure of doing what I love, which is diving with sharks, whales and stingrays (without a cage!) in locations such as Fiji where I encountered Tiger Sharks & Bull Sharks, Hideaway Island, Vanuatu, Hawaii & Maldives; as well as Unawatuna, trincomlee, hikkaduwa and kalpitiya in Sri Lanka and photographing wild life in Africa, Sri Lanka, India etc.

I wish you well and thank you for browsing through my website.
